Message from the President
 January brings our new President, Mr. Obama, along with new hope for not only the country but our city and its industry especially real estate. We need to stay positive and continue to have a good attitude for our future. My goal is to perform the duties that are required of me as your new Cape Coral Chapter President for 2009. There are always challenges to meet but with a positive attitude I believe anything can be accomplished. Donna Stout overcame a number of hurdles in 2008 and I’m sure there will be more in 2009 and future years to come. I am blessed with a great Governing Board and some wonderful returning line officers. Without their dedication this position would be extremely challenging. This organization is running so well that my main feat will be to continue its success and with OUR membership that won’t be hard. I am wishing all our members a Prosperous and Blessed year to come. Spotlight Members of the Month - Affiliate Member
 Name - Debbie Towns Company - Towns Title & Co. I was born and raised in Augusta, GA, home of the Masters (yes, I have been a time or two). I am a true Georgia Peach and open my home and business in true southern hospitality style. Stop by sometime, we'd love to have you. You can meet the family, Rick (the other piece to my puzzle), Courtney (my youngest daughter and best friend) and Melodi (not mine but I claim her). My oldest daughter, Jaimee (the best birthday gift I ever got) lives in Jensen Beach is also a part of the family business. My life with Rick has been a series of adventures. Our lust for adventure and just wanting to get out of Augusta led us to Savannah, Atlanta and eventually landed us in Charlotte, NC for almost ten years. Rick and I both were sales representatives for a French eyewear company (L'Amy). I had the Charlotte territory and Rick had the rest of the state traveling over 60,000 miles a year (the secret to a perfect marriage). We coached girls softball, I coached the girls, Rick coached the parents. I was also the cheerleading commissioner and coached three squads. It was great fun, a lot of work but loved every minute of it. In 1992 we had the opportunity to take over the NE Florida territory (living in Jacksonville) with the same company and jumped at the chance. Worst financial decision but best personal decision as we loved Florida and living at the beach. It was time for a career change. Rick went to work as the marketing director for a title company and I became an office manager for a civil engineering firm. We had a little house at Jax Beach that we were going to retire in. As Rick's business grew and the engineering firm was being sold I switched careers to title insurance. I started off as a processor and caught the bug. I was hooked on the title business. As the company grew to a large title company we moved into upper management. Needing a vacation we decided to visit Rick's brother in Cape Coral. We could not believe the beauty, the water, the fishing and the small town friendly atmosphere. This is where we were supposed to be. On the way home we decided to open a branch office in Cape Coral. Corporate approved, we sold our house, packed and came home to Cape Coral all in a couple of months. We ran the branch office for 2 years while still wearing corporate hats and traveling to Indianapolis in January. Hey I live in southwest Florida for a reason and it was not to travel to Indianapolis in the winter. It was time for another change we need to own our branch. We made an offer, it was accepted and we became Towns Title in 2004. Wonderful things happened, my parents and sister moved to Cape Coral, the girls got married Courtney to Jesse Bodine (Supercutts) and Jaimee to Ryan Carmody (Fisheye Graphics). In 2006 they both had babies (girls), Eckly and Kylan. We are as spoiled by them as they are by us. They are the reason I leave the office, they are my hobby. To them I am Kook and Rick is Grump. It is true what they say about grandchildren. Over the last year I have had the opportunity to get more involved with the Women's Council. I have made new friends, rekindled and strengthened old. It is a pleasure and honor to be a part of such a wonderful group of successful professionals. I truly appreciate how blessed I am that everday is just another day in paradise!
